What is the difference between a request and fill?

The process for which to create a fill and request are similar and it is important to understand the difference between these actions and their implications within the system.


A ‘Fill’ is the action of placing a provider into an existing schedule. For schedules that are not published this can be done on Editor and for published schedules this can be done on Viewer. Follow this link for more information on ‘Fills.’


A ‘Request’ is the action of placing a provider into a not created future schedule. This will require the provider be placed on the assignment once a schedule is created that includes the future date. Requests are placed on the schedule with Max Pref rules before regular rules are used.
